Changes to the Walk-In Clinic
For the past five years, Frontenac Doctors have been operating weekly clinics on the Island. In addition to enabling rostered patients to schedule appointments on the island, they have seen non-rostered patients on a walk-in basis.
Unfortunately, due to changes in the healthcare system, Frontenac Doctors are no longer going to see patients who are not rostered with one of their physicians.
As of March 15, 2023, only rostered patients will be seen at the walk-in clinic. On average only 1-2 non-rostered island residents have been seen at the weekly walk-in clinic, so this change is not a significant reduction in service.
