Volunteer responders training project
Frontenac Neighbours Saving Neighbours is seeking volunteer responders from across Frontenac to participate in a pilot program and research study about the best ways to increase survival rates for victims of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
As a volunteer, you’ll be assigned to a team of other volunteers based on geographic location. You’ll be trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the safe and proper use of an automatic external defibrillator (AED).

- volunteer responders are equipped with AED
- your work will contribute to scientific research
- begin resuscitation in the precious minutes before paramedics arrive
- you could save a neighbour’s life
Requirements:
- 21 years of age or older
- Have a smartphone with data plan
- Have access to a vehicle
- Live or work in the Townships of South Frontenac, Central Frontenac, North Frontenac, or on Wolfe Island
- Have the physical ability to perform moderately vigorous physical activity continuously for at least two minutes; be able to perform good quality CPR for at least two minutes
- Be able to carry an 8kg (18lb) AED kit while responding
- Be available for required in-person training session
